Choosing an Electrologist |
|
|
|
- Take as much care selecting an electrologist as you would selecting your physician, massage therapist, or any other personal service provider.
- Speak with several electrologists before choosing the one who is right for you.
- Make an informed decision. Prepare questions, and ensure that they are answered to your satisfaction.
- Be certain that your electrologist is properly trained. There are several short courses available as part of esthetics packages, which can be as short as 3 weeks. Look for certification from a school that specializes in electrolysis training, including the industry-standard of 500-hours, which are dedicated strictly to electrolysis training.
Look also for certificates of continuing education, and certification, such as C.P.E. or C.C.E.
- The electrologist should qualify for membership in at least one professional association at the provincial or national level.
- The electrologist must uphold federal, provincial and municipal Infection Control Standards and Guidelines.
- The clinic should have equipment and technology to support safe and reliable service.
- The clinic should use only single-use, disposable needles. Insist on it. You are worth it!
